In Sarepta lived a widow and her small son. On passing, a man asked for oil and a piece of bread. She answered him that she was bringing this oil and bread to her home, but there was only enough for one last meal, after that she would have no more left and she would have only one choice: to die.

The man, a Prophet, said to her that she should go home and bake a small biscuit and bring him one, and he promised that she would not lack oil nor bread until the rain would again fall and make the lands and the trees green again.

Today, in more and more territories all over the world, the Church lives a period of austerity, but Christ has promised her that she would never lack oil and bread.

This oil and bread are offered by the numerous anonymous Christians who – through their lives and their work – contribute to renew the vision our world has of faith and of Christian life.

What has Sarepta to offer these Christian people? The possibility to get to know themselves, to share their projects and their works until the land and the trees of the Church become green again.
